Hello Folks,

I am getting ready to hang new rubber on my 49 Oliver 77RC and I'm wondering what size will work good. It currently has 12-38's on it and I would like to go wider and taller. How big do I dare go? This tractor still see's field work from time to time and I like to take it to nearby small town pulls. Also, what size front tires? I thought of going a little smaller, but in the case of field work that may not be a good idea.

Any suggestions?

If you are stock I would go with 13.6's. I have 75 horse in my 77 and I run 14.9's on mine and seem to get better traction than a wider tire.

I would go with a 14.9-38,I have had much better results than with a 15.5, 14.9 also has higher sidewall and provides better footprint, check out the Firestone data chart that gives some good info,Hope this helps RichB

I will assume that you are pulling it in a Pure farm stock type class, ( factory hitch no weight brackets on front, etc.)Good 13.6's will do about as good as any on a decent track. I have 15.5's on mine and have been beat by thinner tires several times depending on track and luck.

As long as your in first gear with a stock motor 15.5's would put more runner on he ground for you. What type of track is normal there? hard clay? sand? something in between? makes a difference.

15.5 38's would be a good size.
