IH Super W6

I was just wondering about horsepower and weight because I can only find it for the regular W6 and Super M. Is it too heavy to pull? When you have seen them pull how do they perform? Thanks in advance for the help. Jared

First things first the Super w6 should have steel frame rails instead of the cast frame like a W6 has. This should make the Super 6 a little lighter than a comprably equiped w6. The super w6 has the same horsepower and displacment as a super M if they are both stock. they used the same engine. A super w6 should make a dandy pulling tractor. I suggest 16.9x30 rear rubber as its not too big but will give ya good traction. I personally have been pulling a propane w6 in the stock class in our club for the last three or four years. My tractor isnt shiny but its strong and solid. I pull it in 6600 lbs with rear wheel weights. I have also done pretty good pulling it in 7600. This is 3mph stock rpm and no cut tires. I enjoy pulling the w6 because not everybody has one. The super 6 is a real find. Remember traction and balance are the main keys. Recently though my wife has beat my w6 with a fence row 49 M that we recently set up for her to pull. She has beat me the last two times we have pulled! She has really rubbed it in my face. Oh well were on the same team. Good luck with your super w6!

We had a pull yesterday and a friend borrowed dads I6 to try pulling. It weighed in at 5460 with him on it, so he pulled the belt pully, starter, generator, battery box ect and was still 120lbs over. So he put everything back on and we added some weights to get up to the 6000 class max. It has 13-24 road grader tires and they are so stiff (14 ply) that we ran them at 4psi and still got no flex. It was the first pull for all of us and I pulled a Super M at 6000 against him and won the class at 232' on a 200 foot track. He only pulled 154' He also pulled an M in the 5000 class and it did much better, as he got third and was within 20' of the winner. Unless you put m axles in and get rid of the big heavy cast wheels and short tires I don't think it'll ever do real well against M's.

There is only one sure way to find out and that is to try it. I am going to try pulling my massey harris 44 gs wich as far as i see it they compare pretty close to the SW6
