Rules for farm stock and top cut tires

First of all might I say that what most of us call farm stock is far from STOCK. Stock would be no hitch mod, no hang on weights stock tires(factory size). When you start modifying hitches and changing wheels to lighten tractor what is stock about that. Also I would bet that any tractor pulling what we call farm stock that has been to one or more pulls has been tweaked a little here and there. So I say that when you allow suitcase weights, bigger tires, weight brackets why not allow top cut tires. What I see happen is some whiner whines when he gets beat because some competetior has done his homework. This is a competetive sport. Also skill has to be factored in. A guy that has been pulling 20 yrs is going to be hard to beat. So all you guys bitching and griping pay attention to who is winning and learn there tecniques and have some fun. FARM STOCK (just as it came from the factory) SUPER FARM STOCK ( Modifications I mentioned) E.F.

Three cheers for E.F. Hookem. Well said! As long as there is competition, people will try to compete. That"s why we play with tractors. I posted Clintonia"s rules this morning for people to read. Farm Stock is posted separately from the General rules. It has done wonders for our club.

Well put. Leave Farm Stock just what it should be. Leave the modifications, especially tire cutting, for the other classes such as you mentioned. What we really have already is FAR(fro)M STOCK.

Lamont Im not sure you understood my point. What I was saying is, when you alter your hitch and add weight brackets it is NOT farm stock. So when you start changing hitches and adding suitcase weights(which did not come stock) then it is just as much as altering tires. That is what I would consider super farm stock or farm stock II. If you want to make it fair for all then have pure farm (no hitch mods & weight brackets and Super farm which would allow hitch and weight brackets and back cut tires. E.F.

I agree that farm stock needs to be kept just that.I believe you have to stand up and fight to keep it farm stock. There always seems to be some that choose not to follow the rules that are in place.Even at clintonia.
