some would call it, Altered class, set a year limet like 1955 must look like a complete tractor.must have a belt or gear driven governor. no turbo blowers or fuel injection. run on pump gas, RPM`s no more than 2,500,run no higher than 2nd gear. (should include 6 cylinder to...the 292 gm 6 would be a good one to have.

There is no way in he!! that you can run a V-8 class at 2500 rpm (The 351W in my Torino runs more than that just going down the interstate). A V-8 has very little low end torque and makes its horsepower with higher rpm (Look at how many they put in farm tractors in the last 40 years compared to I-6's). About every V-8 out there can safely run 5000rpm stock. Since people are going to atleast spend a little money on an engine, it wont be a problem to build one to safely turn 6000. Govern the rpm with an electronic rev limiter and not a mechanical governor.

Patches, Rearend is now shot in 300 Farmall, will most likely be 3 weeks to get parts and needle reatend, maybe 7000 RPM was to much for old rearend. We had a new tractor at Shelby, MO pull yesterday an Oliver 88, Chevy-automatic it kicked butt, we all had a good time and we will be back in the chase shortly. If anyone wants IAMO Pullers rule send me an email and your phone number in email. Do not miss out on the FUN Classic Modified (V-8's)
