Klotz oil, it is an upper cyl lubricant. Use to the bottle specs. Takes a pretty hot plug, lot of fuel to ignite. It is easier to drill out the main jet, and tap it so a holley jet fits in, then you can use the load adjustment screw still, jetting will be bigger than you ever would expect, and then some. The holley jet gets you closer, but still may have to drill the biggest one they make! I could never get a M-450, or any 6 cyl metering stem flow enough alcohol and run right, we made our own metering stem, and tha is close to a 1/4 inch diameter through the center of the stem. Once we got the stem it was bout like setting up on regular gas, feed it enough till the plugs were brown. Put on the pump, break it in on gas, then convert it, all the work to put it on alky, is done to the carb bowl. You will have to drill the idle too, not the smaller stem, but the one beside it. lets more fuel in, electrinic, or MSD ign should be used, points,,, well they are not quick enough to do the job, kept misfiring, the MSD helped tremendously in the way it ran, and started.
