Just bought a goose-neck trailer and have a ball plate to put in the pick-up. Question, what distance should I put the ball from the rear end? luckydog

I used to pull trailer with 1/2 ton 4x4 and had it about 9" forward of center the one on my 1 ton dodge is 4-5" forward. i think everyone will have different idea on placement and I dont think it would matter much. it is usually tough to get much further forward than 8 or 9" working with existing frame and box supports.Paul

Ive put them about 2 inches ahead of the rear axle (above) Depends on truck, 1/2 ton, 3/4 or 1 ton. You dont want to over weight your front axle, worked for me,, Chad
