i'm wondering if i would be allowed to pull stock antique classes if i took the engine fan off my tractor and replaced it with an electric one?very few of the tractors that i pull with are bone stock, but i've never seen this done. i think i could get another 1-2 HP. any input, bad or good, would be appreciated.

If your not allowed to run without a fan loosen the belt before the pull, then tighten it back up to cool down between rounds.Your correct,a fan and don't forget the waterpump drag as much as 5-10hp depending on the tractor. The combined drag on a 4640jd is just under 30HP@2250 eng rpm.

Come down to the West Tn area, they will let you here i seems. I saw a tractor today with an electric fan and car front end pulling in farm stock ( well this year they call it uper farm because of the pulling hitch and no factory drawbar but you get the idea). Guess I am going ot have to change some things on mine ....
