Have a powerblcok and need to know the best way to pull the sleeves. They are craked all over in the back skirt up into the cylinder wall. any help would be appreciated.

If they are just pressed in, you can weld a couple of beads up the bore. The heat will allow them to shrink.

i already have. they won't come out. We ended up breakin one out. I kindof want to keep one in tact to take and match another sleeve to. thanks for the suggestion though.

I have had that problem one time, with a sleeve. I ended up breaking it out also. Good Luck.

Most likely, in order to save one, you will have to ruin the other. Decide which is more valuable, the block or the sleeve.

This is a power block that has been work on. Between the arrows is where it was cut out so the sleeves could be press out. The shop made a plate with tabs that could be moved out and put in the cut area so the sleeves could be press out. A boring bar machine was used to do the cutting. A 1/4" ring was then put in the area that was cut out when it was put back together with sealer between them.
The reason I had mine out was to replace the o-rings around the sleeves.
It was leaking water in the cylinder.
The guy said if he had it to do again it would be $1500. to do it. That was 4 years ago
