Recently moved my hitch point on my H Farmall from stock position on the loop to 18" from center of rear axle. I was using 100lb. on the front at stock position to keep proper balance. Any estimates on what differences I need to make this year with the new set up? What else does this effect?

On my H, I run the same hitch length as you at
18in. high. 13.6 tires. Air pressure depends on the track. I pull Div.II NATPA rules. 4000&4500.
I rarely ever put on front weights, unless I get
on a real hard or tight track. then it may be only the weight bar with 10lbs. on it.

Our club rules were always that the hitch point had to be outside the radius of the tires, which was about 27 inches on my Super H. The rules changed to 24 inches so I moved my hitch ahead. I still have to run about the same weight on the front but get alot better traction. The chain pulls down more on the back tires.

A longer drawbar has the potential of lifting more weight on the front end therefore placing more downward force on the rear wheels, however once that front end starts to lift, the hitch height drops more than a short drawbar, reducing the effectiveness of the additional leverage. My 2 cents.

I would think you would no longer need the front 100 # weight if you are the same height and moved it forward a bunch.

You will still use the weight, I would guess..
stock drawbar is like 26 inches from the rear, so it should also help you budge the sled easier....I am doing the same, going from stock to 18".....AC
