has anyone had problems getting parts from Schooler? have had parts there for some time now. maybe he is so good that he is that busy or he just is that slow.

When I drove up to Schooloer's to check out what he had and how much it would cost he told me that the machine work was done in a town near his house. what it looked lke to me was he was more so a middle man parts dealer. He had rods, carbs, and a lot of other parts on the shelf when I visited.

The only thing I can say is that it does take a little longer than it should for his work. But from what I've seen its well worth the wait. The good machine shops always have a big waiting order.

If you people wouldn't wait until the middle of winter, you might get your stuff back before pulling season. It's when everyone waits the shop gets swamped and parts dont make it out by the first pull. Machine work just doesn't happen overnight, it is very time consuming.

I sent my parts before December 21st. And its March 26th, and I still haven't got them back yet. He said it would take 4 weeks, if I got them in before the 1st of the year.

ya, but a couple of months should be long enough to build a couple of rods and sell some pistons. the pistons aren't even built by him.

Right on. I took some parts to Todd at TNT Machine shop in Polo the end of September and got'em back the middle of January...just about when I thought I would. It was worth the wait. See ya at the fairgrounds on Friday.

probably have to buy an ih, so you can buy parts out of a catalog. a guy will grow old waiting for parts for a john deere. ha ha

In oct. 2004 he told me he could do my work in 30 days. It took 4 months to do my crank, rods, and cam. Still waiting on my stock core refund on my cam.

As someone mentioned above the pistons aren't made by him, and unless something has changed, he doesn't do the cranks in house either. Those are done in Kansas City. So if either of those two suppliers get backed up it slows him down also.

Your right, he uses Campbell"s Crankshaft in Kanasas City for cranks, and off the shelf Pratt + Whittney aircraft pistons and wanted $125 more than I could get them locally! JDMark

i guess my biggest complaint is that he says you will get it in a week and two weeks later you still don't have your parts. this has been done several times.
