Here goes will a stock UB pull very good with 18.4X38 tires?Has less than 100 hrs.on overhaul.Planning to go modifid.Bigger intake, 20" hitch.Runs on lp.I can get a real good deal on the 18.4X38 Firestone tires.I'm hoping to get some imput from ya'll since new to pulling.THANKS

18.4 are to big for stock but 15.5 or 14.9 would work great. if you go bigger intake like maybe a peterson i don't know if stock stroke and bore will be good enough. try a 670 manifold and send your carb to motec.

I pull a mild UB running about 65 h.p. and depending on how wet the clay track is, we can bog it down with 15.5 on it. On a stocker I'd stick to a 13.6 or 15.5. They are shorter than a 14.9 and get a good grip although if you can turn a 14.9 nothing wrong with that. Youd probably need at least a good 85 h.p. to play with an 18.4 depending on what classes you pull in.

I think that is too much tire unless the tracks you pull on are loose and gravely. A lot of stock classes don't allow tires that big until you get into heavier classes,(8500 and up around here). If you are pulling 5500-6500 14.9X38 would be a good size.
