I have a choice. Either new or a half wore set. Both are 13.6X38 Field and road. Which do you think would pull better. Thanks for any opinions....John.

By me, the going price for Firestone is anywhere from 250-260 a tire.....

yep go with the older ones. Most racks are fairly hard and the older worn ones will do better. If they flatten some you can get sore rubber on the ground than with new ones. What are they going on?

Going on a 77 Oliver to pull the 3800-5500 classes. I think I"m going to go with the old ones. they are about 50% tread left but are about 15 years old so they would be harder. AND CHEAPER!!!!!

Take the old set that is half worn if they are hard tires. New tires are softer in most instances and the bars tend to walk back and not grab as hard. Just my opinion and experience.
