I would like to know if JD 720 gas cam is the same as the JD G R 900? I would like to know the lift duration and center line of the 720 gas cam?And if it will interchange in a JD G?

The G,70,720 & 720 cams all had the same lift and duration.

Glen, it doesn't happen often but this is one time I have to respectfully disagree. The late G and 70 tractors use the same F900R cam but the 720's and 730's use a totally different cam with vastly different timing events. I don't have the information in front of me right now but they are indeed different. If memory serves me right the lobes have different spacings as well. Mike

Back several years ago Two Cylinder Club published some of the 20 series engine specs which are rarely seen. I lost a photo copy of that data in a 2001 move so maybe my memory has failed me. I was positive the only difference was the distributer gear stuck on the end of the 720 cam? A fresh reground cam from Roberts instead of a worn 720 cam maybe an option?
