hey everyone. Im gonna start to get into antique tractor pulling. I have a Farmall M. It is light enough to get into the 5,000 lb. class. Is that a good thing or fo M's pull better in the 6,000 lb. class? I have to replace the rear tires, i am wondering what kind of tires are better than others. Is it better to have more lugs, and at what angle, is it better to run a 14.9 or a 13.6? I want to be competitive in the stock classes. I am looking for ways to gain power and traction but staying close to stock. We are allowed to be 10% over on RPM's. So far i have replaced distributer cap, points, roter, and advanced the timing a little. I have also played with the governer. What else can i do? Thanks for all the help.

ChadS has some good info. Made my Super M think it was a beast. Carb, ignition and governor, then you will be rolling.

Click on the link below. Youll find some good info there. Really, it comes down to getting the engine to preform a little better by a few minor enhancements. If you have questions, just hollar back here! Welcome to antique tractor pulling! ChadS
