I would likr to know if anyone can tell me how to calculate the percentage rate of a pulling tractor. i would like to get a little 'stocker' pull together and thought a% pull would be a fun way to judge a tractors marits.I know you have to have the tractors weight and the distance travled, but how do get the weight have the sled as it goes down the track.what formula do you use to get the %.

We simply measure the distance the weight travels up the sled, rather than the distance the sled travels down the track. The sled has two transmissions so we can vary the rate for small tractors or big tractors. Classes are by weight so everyone in the class weighs virtually the same.

we have a formula in northern ind, we figure you start the sled at 3250 # with every inch the box moves up the rails adds 82# to the pan here is an example 3250 plus 100 inches onthe rail or 8300# 3250 plus 8300= 11550 # pulled you have a 4500# tractor devide 4500 into 11550 =256.66% may not be 100% accurate but same for every one. works for us and no fights

i live in pa and percentage pulls you get alot of fights going and people dont really like pulling % around here... the way they do it around here is they take the farthes puller and the shortest puller and if u pull over 20 on the shoprtest pull you get DQ
