how far can you go with a continental h260? so far i"ve installed a big bore kit, and had the head cut .075". i'm going to pull it like this for this year, but am thinking about div. 3 or 4 in a couple years. i would like to keep the continental for appearance purposes, so how much horsepower is this engine capable of? thanks

Preacher -

A 44 engine can be built from a 55HP H260 engine with bone stock appearance to a 190HP H260 engine with a bone stock appearance. I have built the gammit of these engines, all with "stock" appearance. It really boils down to how much $$$ and time you have...

Send me an email if you like, seeing how there doesn"t seem to be much interest in a real discussion in this particular thread.

Regards,

you may build it as big as you like.It may need about 60hp for the 5and6k at local 3.5mph classes in NC you may need a lot more pulling in Catpa or Ottpa. but in northern Va. if you get a lot of power and show it you won't be pulling long . Just a hint. Hope to see you at Callao

i don't follow.why won't i be pulling long? right now, it's around factory ratings.(46 h.p. at p.t.o.)i'm pulling div.1 i think, 5500-6500 depending on what it scales out at.i haven't weighed it yet. still trying to get it running.think i'm cutting it close? :) i just want to have fun, and maybe win one if i get lucky.if i get it running in time, and it does o.k. on the dyno, i'll be there.i got the short block together today, and should have it running next weekend. thanks for the reply

Just keep your engine hp to yourself and don't show your stuff , you'll get the idea.

you got it, it's a stock pull unless you pull in farm stock and that's not limited to 59 and older
