WD45 about 8:1 compression w/1/8" overbore. Stock distributor w/ Pertronic electronic conversion, converted to 12V, 40,000v coil w/ ballast resistor. What plugs? Can I or should I use a bigger gap?

The petronix will allow you to run a wider plug gap than what a points setup will not allow. By eliminating the condensor, when you done the conversion, you now have the pull power of the coil, going to the plugs. Really, you should try a few different gaps to see where it likes it. Id say .035-.040 mite be a good starting point on the plug gap. Will help start faster, and run smoother at higher rpms, due to the ignition being more precise from no mechanical parts to act up, burn, etc etc. ChadS
