A friend of mine just bought an Oliver 80 that he wants to set up for pulling. He was wondering what he could do to get more power out of the motor, bigger pistons, head, carb? Any help would be great.

There is a lot of room in an 80 - I have been looking at designs over 600 cubes, but you should not need to go that large with a speed limit. Let me know what you are looking for, and I will try to help.

At 10% over on an 80, you will probably need 500 cubes to make 110-115 horsepower. You will have to bore and stroke it.

We had an 80 pulling tractor about 5 years ago. The worst part of an 80RC is no electric start. Put an M Farmall dist. on it, bolts right on, easier to start and gives it about 7 more HP. The one we had was about 490 cid.

Cody, do you have any parts for Ollie 88? Im looking for a mild 85-100 hp, farm stock, stock rpm. I have a good crank, looking for a bigger bore sleeve and piston set. 4 inch would be good. Stock stroke, it already has the overbore 3-3/4 kit, in good shape,,, wanting to get that 88 sitting out back running this summer. Id do some trading if you have anything! ChadS

Chad, I don't have anything right now. You can probally find a set of 3 7/8 M&W pistons and sleeves pretty easy. With a little head and induction work, 80HP is achievable.
