Got about 160 compression in each cylinder on my H farmall with stock bore and stroke. Would I benefit greatly from a different cam? What would Hp gain be? What else would change? Where do you get it? How much? Thanks.

As cam duration is increased the mechanical compression ratio has to be increased just to keep the same compression psi. The rpms where peak torque and peak HP are then supposed to occur higher. Along with higher peak torque & HP. Unless the engine's airflow can keep up at higher rpms, the torque & power gains will be little to none.

I agree. Airflow is the key. So many people dump cash on parts when a "simple" port and polish job done correctly will yield more power than they ever expected. Just my opinion.

It would help, since you are over 150psi, you wont see much of a difference in it, more torque, not A BIG HP gain, maybe 2 or 3, on an H. Have not seen a stock engine gain alot of HP by going much over a SH-350 cam in them. you get over 175 psi, then you might get a bit more results. ChadS
