I ordered some brass drain cocks from McMaster-Carr for our puller. They are like $4.00 each. I bought the "T" handle type because I was concerned that gravity and vibration might open a lever handle type. I would now consider using the lever handle type because they are stiff enough that they wouldn't open and the "T" handles can be an SOB to open and close; not enough leverage to turn them, and after a few seconds of struggling with them they get too hot to touch without gloves and I end up using my Leatherman to grab hold and close them.

I bought a couple sets from Triple G Service. They are a very compact ball valve (inch and1/4 when thread in),with a small "T" handle.I,m happy with them.Their toll free number is 1-888-720-0830.

Puller, I have used 1/4 pipe brass drain cocks for years on our 2 cyl pullers they work fine. The hole in them are 1/4 in. If your hand cranking you might want to turn at least the left hand down a little to make starting easier on stock comp. tractors. You should be able to find them at any good auto parts store that has a good brass assortment. The only thing the handle works opposite to the Deere cocks.Earl In Illinois

Hey, jdgpuller I would not recommend using hardware store valvles. They probably couldn't stand the heat or pressure. Have to make your own some how, or find a place to buy them. BEST OF LUCK!!!

Go to the hardware store and dig in the brass fittings and you should find a valve to suit you. A word of warning though; if you put too big of petcocks in it, it will be a B!@%h to start.
