I checked the compression on my 51 A with .045 over M & W pistons. It checked at 90 on one and 95 on the other. Is this about right or should I be trying to get some more. I haven"t shaved the head or block any yet, but I am thinking about taking .125 off of each. Would this make any difference???

Stock cast iron .045 pistons will yield about 110 psi. If you are running aluminum M&W"s your compression should be in the 120-125 range. Being said, if you cut .125 off block and head then you should be around 140 psi.

Farmall whupper----compression should be 110psi at wide open throttle-and engine at operating temp....If you shave the head and block-psi will rise..good luck----Jim.
