I had an official at an antique pull once ask me where my John Deere G came from. I replied "Waterloo Iowa, they made 64000 of them there"

My Dad asked our aging farmer neighbor (in his 90s) why he farmed with his Olivers and never had any John Deere tractors. He thought about it a minute and replied "Have you ever hear of anyone stealing an Oliver?"

Years ago this question was asked on the garden tractor forum; "What is the rarest John Deere garden tractor model?" My reply "The one that could out pull a Wheel Horse!". Bill in Richmond ,Va.

Have you ever wondered why there are so many john deere tractors at the antque tractor shows? They made antiques 20 years longer than anyone else.

And the 88 says to the 460,besides the fact your too new to qualify for antique, let me use a massey head and run 460's RPM's and i will still own the "Show Time"

Good Olivers are tough to beat. I wish our club would let 58 models in,,, Id say use what you have available. IH are like the ollies., engine swaps are just as fun in both rides! Been thinking bout an 88 for a deadweight puller, I have a 50 OL 88 sitting behind the shed with a bad engine, (Stuck) How lite can a 88 get with out chopping it up with 77 parts? ChadS

Chad I'd say the "G" getting second would be very good compared to the "M" getting DAL (kinda like the John Deere B's to your H)

Now that's the joke he needs to tell rite there! Cause the JD had the bragging rights! LMAO! Just when the IH thought it was said n done, fat lady was warming up, then she got interupted by the sight of a JD pulling it out the door. Couldnt throw enough food at her to take her attention from that! Good burn! ChadS
