have you ever seen or worked the lp m head lemons sells. one of our local pullers carried a new one in the other day. it didn't take much observation before the shop was full of laughter. except for him, it was his money. i can't believe that someone would sell such crap. no hard seats, the intakes are sunk in .050", the rocker arms don't sit on the valves, and the spring pressure would handle 5000 rpm. not exactly my idea of a useable piece for todays fuels, and 20% over stock rpm.

Ive seen 3 of them from lemmons, Not the first time Ive seen a sunk valve from overgrinding the valves, rather than purchase new ones, or they just overgrind the the new ones. Lemmons has good stuff to sell when you really shell out the big $$ for what they have. But, Id send it back, tell them this aint gonna work! Id be leary of the very heavy springs on the valves, mite bend a push rod. It dont take that much to keep the valves closed on these engines. My belief for heavy springs for high rpm, is that the centrifugal force, overbears the lite spring, and causes a valve float. Or stays relaxed from the heat, and excesive rpms. New OEM springs, are ok for a mild engine. The heads lemmon sells, is a "full power" high rpm based design engine. mainly, you get, what you dont ask for,,,, When ordering parts from business, tell them exactly what you have, and need. If they know what they are doing, they will give you the best information for your set up,, not just what they think is best, cause thats all the sell. A good properly machined 450 head can get close to the lp head output, and save a boatload of $$$$. Denny's fell to this, sell parts, no proof, and look what happened! Complaints, and he has a bulldog to answer his phones. Use shops, who know what you have, if they have the capability, and the patience to listen to the pullers, and what they need, knowledgable sales, and machinists to the technology of the trade.
