I was wondering who was the most reasonable and makes the best custom pistons? I need one 4 7/8 bore with a 1 1/2 comp distance. Thanks for any advice.

Before springing for a set of custom slugs, I'd do some looking to see if there is a preexisting piston that will work for your application. What you need could already be in production. More than likely much cheaper than a custom part. A lot of machine shops have manuals that show piston specs and interchangeability. Also left off the list of piston makers is Mahle. They've built OEM pistons for a long time, but are now getting into the high-performance arena.

I've had good luck with JE's. Fast service and reasonably priced. They've made a couple sets for me and I've been very satisfied.
