Has anyone ever experimented with propane injection in a naturally aspirated tractor engine from the late 50's? Would the pre-combustion chambers or energy cells in these engines prevent it from working?

Hank Hill of Arlen, TX seems to be pretty knowledgeable about propane and propane accessories.

Worked better with a turbo. LP vapour diplases the air required for combustion so they can too easily end up running rich. Liquid LP injection directly onto the back of the intake valve would be interesting.

The neighbors have a Farmall 400 that we put propane injection on. It made it run like it had 2 more cylinders and she really blew black smoke. Then we fabbed a small turbo on it and still ran the propane. We where running 10 psi boost and it pulled pretty good until the head gasket blew. It was the original head gasket replaced it and it still runs pretty good.

If you are looking for a propane kit I have one for sale. It is a Powershot 2000, has tank and everything.

There is gentleman in Jefferson SC that is a "Professor of Propane". Can't recall his name right now but maybe someone else knows who I am referring to.
