JD 70 head gasket

Has anyone ever bored a 70 gas to 6.125 and if so what head gasket did you use??? Or will a G or 70 allfuel or 720-730 gas head gasket work on an overbored gas 70?? As it looks like the stock 70 gas head gasket will not work on a 6.125 bore. Thanks in advance, old-joe

Just wondering what pistons your using? I've got 720/30 diesel pistons I'm gonna try to shove into my 70 gas, mill the tops down and bush the pins. My stock block is shot so I'm thinking of "test" boring that one to see how thin it gets. I suspect I will have to go with a copper head gasket.

Anyone have a set of stock 70 Gas or LP pistons out??? I need some measurments... distance from the pin (center or top of the pin) to the top of the pistons.... Thanks,

The Allfuel and G gaskets will have a different bolt pattern... You should be Ok running that gasket.. I have the pistons to put in a 70 Gas like you are doing.. Its just way down on the list... I have bore G's bigger than .250 over and never had a problem with a stock gasket... You could look for a custon gasket.. but our luck was not so good with the aftermarket gaskets... (that was on a diesel..) Haven't tried a copper gasket... yet... Good Luck
