On this 51 G that I have tore down. I was thinking of .125 over on the bore and I have found a 70lp cam. Will that lp cam help me and if so what do you or ya'll think that cam would need done to work well. I have also found a manifold on my self that looks to be a G gas the numbers stamped on it are G136 I belive and the bolt pattern matches up to my flat head. Have you seen one with those numbers. Also I am not wanting to change cranks but may have to do so.

Better check you cam #s before you spend a lot of money. They should be same cam part #F900R.

As posted.. they should be the same Cam.. but depending on the lopes, it will probably be worth your time (and money) go ahead have have it reground.. (Regrinding is cheap.) I have not heard anyone complain about any of the different grinders.. Many have liked Roberts Carb for a regrind.. With the high compression pistons and flat head that will make some cheap HP.. you should be in the 70Hp range.. depending on other little things.. The only thing you may have to watch is the flathead flex at times.. mine has been pinned.. (it has pin on the back side of the combustion chamber, in the water jacket to help prevent it from flexing.).. but with that said.. There are over a dozen G pulling in our club with flat heads.. and I know of one.. maybe two that are pinned.. ) I'm not too sure on the manifold numbers.. I'd have to go look.. I like the manifolds that have the #1 exhaust routed around the back of the intake.. Robert's also sells a taller manifold made by Jerry's Machine out of Wichita, KS.. It will take some grinding on the water manifold to get it to fit with the flathead, and the short styled G block..
