put m&w crank in a m with 4 1/8 dome piston. problem is that it sticks out of the block 1/4 of a inch.

Done this very same thing several years ago, cut the pistons off, tractor started at an idle just fine, when I gave it some throttle four holes were made right square in the center of each piston. You need the correct pistons for the crank, I think you can get them from Herschel/Adams, they have a website.

Arent you supposed to use the correct M W piston esp for the crank?Believe it has the wristpin moved up 1/4 of an inch.

Yes, they relocated the compression height for the M&W stroker. I am making replicas of them, but with a taller dome. 4-1/8 bore, depends on what rod you use. M, or 450 rods. Relocating the wrist pin height to help set the compression height. ChadS
