What's done to it? You can get a 3" exhaust, jerry's manifold, take the stock breather off. I need to know what's done to it b/c some of the "cheap" horsepower could hurt you.

You might want to bore it out .125 and get some HC pistons if you can afford. I heard stroking is the best thing you can do, but it"s pretty exspensive and I had to do w/o. Have some who knows what their doing and have them tinker w/ the carb. The timing is probably set up for the most economical, instead of horsepower. It"s the way it came from the factory. Another thing is to check to make sure you have a DLTX 51 (Big Nut) carb. If you have the magneto, get a distributor and a good coil. Get your head polished, ported and have them shave the head down to the eyebrows. I can"t remember how much shaving that is though. If you do this, the jerry"s manifold and the 3in exhaust from Crum Equipment will help you. Buy the high octane fuel, this helped me big w/ the performance. This is pretty much my set up and I won the last 3 out of 5 pulls w/ and one 2nd in the antique class. If I can remember anything else, I"ll tell you.

How about trying the slow release NOS or rigging up a blower in it?

Up hear in MN there is a guy who put a chevy 350 in a styled A. He had to lengthen the frame and he installed a right-angle gearbox off of a brushhog to connecect the engine to the tranny. Everey thing from the flywheel back is stock and it all works, even the hand clutch and pto
