electric water pump- the sequel

I recently asked about a 12 volt electric water pump for my pulling tractor. I found one today at Surplus Center in Nebraska. It looks pretty much like what I was looking for and is built for continuous duty. The price was $36.95 which was acceptable. It should come in a few days. If it doesn't work I am not out much. The local bus garage can get me a school bus circulator pump (which looks very similar to what I ordered) for about $100. Thanks to all who wrote in and helped.

I was informed today that the pump I ordered from Surplus Center was out of stock. However, an engine builder said he used RV pumps without any trouble whatsoever. So that is the route I am taking. They are reasonably priced and if they do go bad will not be expensive to replace, plus, they move a lot of water.

I am currently using the RV pump. It's not working so good for me. It doesn't move enough volume..... It also seems to quit pumping when it gets hot. I am getting by but will be changing it.

Is the pump drawing in hot water from the engine or cooler water from the rad bottom?

I have used some in the $40 area, the impellers get stiff and seize after a while of pumping hot water. After I went through a couple I broke down amd bought a moroso electric pump for a small block chevy on ebay for $80, just tapped the water ports in it to 3/4 pipe and put nipples on it and mounted it in a remote location. Works awsome with 35gpm flow, you'll never have a problem.
