I am interested in stroking a John Deere D. Would like any information available as to how much it can be stroked and how to achive it, what kind of rods to use, how to overcome camshaft clearance, and the availablity of alunimum pistons. Any input will be appreciated. Larry

Paul,

Can you tell me exactly what portion of the 404 rod & how much, and the A or G rod would need to be welded together? What are your thoughts on size of bore without going to sleeves? With sleeves? Who could I contact to do the rods. Thanks for your comments. Larry

I did abunch of measuring one day and found out there is alittle more room than in a G.that being said 10" stoke is possible with 404 jd rods welded to G or A rods.unless your really comfortable doing something like this spend the money and talk to a pro.FYI I think with some fancy machine work 1000cubic inches is possible.move the cam alittle and maybe 1150.
