JD 60 LP Pistons in 60 Gas Engine???

Has anyone on this board had experience running regular JD 60 LP pistons in a regular JD 60 gas engine? Was the performance increase noticeable? How much HP increase? Better lugging power? Any pre-ignition knock problems? Need to go to higher octane gas? Was it worth the work to change pistons?

Many "LP" 60's, 620's and 630's were converted to Gasoline over the years... They should work well...the compression is over 8:1 so the timeing has to be set well, to prevent pre-ignition or knocking... Regular gas (87) should work. Other than more compression, Hard valve seats and a true Cold Intake...there is no difference between a gas and LP..
