Who do you think has a good chance of winning the 7250 King of the Hill at Tunica next Sat.? On the other side I think the Sullivan's from Shelbyville, TN. are a good bet. They have won the 7500lbs. class 2 years in a row now and finished high in KOH with both tractors all 3 times they have been there. Charlie K. who won it all 2 years ago is tough and so is the M who won last year. There are several on the other side who could do it, but I'll bet on the Sullivan's. On the JD side if Easley on the Butch Wood's G is 1st. hook again, he may have a cake walk again. Put him back down the list and see what happens. Most all the ILL. boys are tough. Getting the extra play time on Wed. and Thur. doesn't seem to help the Miss. JD's any. No clear favorite on the JD side. Sullivan's get my bet, BUT they have been beat by that Ala. G a time or 3. Who knows----that's why we go.

My bet is on last years winner. Won by a sizeable margine. I've been watching him this winter and he is very tough where ever he pulls.

I think I know the Sullivan's secret! The massive amount of blow-by from the engine has a sort of packing effect on the track causing the tires hook better. Maybe this year they will have their exhaust run downward towards the track too? I think I'll loosen a couple of head bolts on my tractor so I can get a little more moisture down where it counts!

Lurker,
The Sullivans are tough for sure and have a very good chance of taking the KOH.

I think there is some misconception as to the amount of access time we (the Miss. JD pullers) get to the track prior to the pull. We (The Mean Green Pulling Team) are not allowed in the building until Thursday. The sleds usually come in late on that day to unload and set up scales, etc. The track is in no condition on Thursday to do any "play pulling" or practice. Generally, the track is broken up late Thursday, watered down and left to stand overnight. Final packing and finishing is done Friday morning and usually isn't finished until just before pulling begins. So please don't feel that we have some advantage by getting a lot of extra pulling time on the track.

We don't do so hot simply because there are many super good pullers (like the Sullivans) that we are competing against. Plus we, as a team, are really more interested in "making for a good show" than "being the show".

Just as an update. Fitzgeralds has already booked 731 rooms for the nights of Thur. Fri.& Sat. That's about 120 more than last year. From all indicators, this year will be best pull we've had so far. We're looking forward to seeing everyone and having some good competitive pull.

We appreciate everyone's support and participation.

Spotter, aka Wayne Perry

880,
Now that you mention it, I don't know of a street address, as such. The arena is located directly on Hwy 61, just north of the town of Tunica and to the south of "The Casinos" (about 5 miles or so). You absolutely cannot miss it. Try this website and see if it will help.

Link

Otherwise, let me know where you'll be traveling from and I'll put you dead on....Spotter

Yes, SL, day in and day out the Sullivan's are hard to beat. They have won the 7500 twice and placed both tractors high in KOH. I think that may give them a slim edge and they really study the track and other tractors to get themselves in a position to win. That said--there are really some tough tractors on the other side. On the JD side Tony, Scott, the Trame's and some others are tough also. And it's about time a JD won it all. All in all it's a crap shoot and anyone could win on any given day. That's why we go and hope to do our best and all the while have a good time with good friends from all across the country. See you there.

Spoke with John Sullivan this afternoon, they're getting ready to head down on Thur. John is going to carry his JD 60 to pull over on our side. Now we'll have to beat them on both sides to get to the finals. Wouldn't it be something if they ended up pulling against each other for KOH. I'll do my best not to let that happen. Good luck to all.
