You could use a M Farmall rod, they are 10.00" long, 2.498 journal size & 2.00" wide Farmall

A "DC" Case rod is 10.75?? in length and has a 2.25 Rod journal diameter. The wrist pin is approxitmatly 1.25?? and is clamped in the rod and does not float in rod like most rods. I have used these in small stroker model "B" John Deere's The crank bearing end is wider than the B rod and has to be narrowed a little, not hard to do. DW

An "H" or "300" Farmall rod is the same rod only uses a different bearing insert. The "H" uses a 2.250 bearing diameter and the "300" uses a 2.30 bearing. They are shorter than maybe you want but have an off set cap that works well for ducking around camshaft. If you are looking for a off the shelf (one piece) rod to match exactly what you are wanting, just as well have them custom made, but you better talk to your finance people first. There are many pullers out there with homade welded rods in them. If done right I would not be afraid to use them. DW

The Case rod is longer by .250" and the "B" rod is 10.50" if my memory serves me right. Early and late "B" rods are the same length just have larger crank and wrist pin diameters. You got that smoker built for next year? I thought I heard some ramblings about a smoker class? In process of putting 4430 transmission in mine, tired of breaking it. DW

Nope... it will probably be next winter's project... I have to finish the G.. and build the A first... Not sure where we are going to go with the smoker class... The rules are similar to what is in IL.. except no speed limit.. but I don't really have anything to fit right now... How is heavy is the 4430 trany going to be??? I spent a few hrs on the phone the other night talking with some guys about what to start with... Going to be lots of trial and error stuff this first year.. with the tractors.. and the rules a little... If some rules can be adopted.. and left alone it will work..

Thanks for the info on the rods.. JDGnut
