Lawrence Wilson's GBP (propane) looks like it could kill. How about trying some thing simular on gas. Ooh would it be fun! Best of luck.

1. first, put any motor in it and pull it
2. I've read your posts but DO YOU own a tractor that you could pull with? NO

Current Berry M-M:

1947 UTU, 1950 UTU, 1952 UTU, 1939 RTU, 1940 RTU, 1945 RTU, 2 RTI, 335, 1960 Jet Star, 1963 Jet Star 2, 2 GBD, 1950 GTB, UBD, UB, 5-star LP, 5-star Diesel, 2 KTA, 1939 Deere H, M-H 44-6, Oliver 70, 112 Hydro, M5, 1936 JTU, 1936 MTA, and I think that covers it. 15 of those are mine and the rest are Grandpa's and Dad's toys. You want to know about the other two dozen machines I've had in the past?

Ok, now about PULLING. My UB gas I've pulled for the last two years consistenly places in 5500 mostly with Clintonia Pullers highly attended Lansing area pulls. These are typically classes of 15-25 hooks. Doubt it? Ask those I beat. Dad has his fair share of wins too on the old girl. Always room for improvement. My smokey old beater U gas has several 1st place trophies for stone boat 5500 and even placings on the transfer including a 2nd in the Happy Hooker Kellogg Arena pull in Battle Creek. In Oakley percentage stone boat pull it placed 10th of 85 machines with 220% before I put it "under constyruction". When I started I was still able to pull off a few stone boat wins on the famously weak 1939 Deere H. Now with two more machines almost finished with more horsepower, I look forward to also building a beast for hot classes as money allows in the next couple years. Here's a pic of the old UB tugging away at Clintonia's home track in Fowler, MI at an awesome pull. You're welcome to come kick my butt any time. The more, the merrier!

Take the 403 ci engine with the 6 in. stroke and stroke it to 8 to 9 inches. Get you a set of 800 ci blocks and heads. (2)--1032's.. Bore the cylinders out to 5 1/2 to 5 3/4 inches. Have your cam reground. Put on a LARGE carb. Put a weight rack on the front with weights to hold the front down and then always go for the full pulls after you put some tires on that will hold it.----deadeye

This didn't have a 4cyl 403 in it. It had the 425 diesel 6 cyl in it and runs about two feet longer than the gas version. I have a 403 G and a 403 in a U. Great motors! Yeah 800 blocks would be a dream! My buddy does standard G blocks to 5.75, but it is pretty labor intensive. I'm thinking 605 until I can afford a good built MM diesel for it. How large of a carb? I have five big bendix monsters on the shelf.

Put the 403 back in it and add the best high compression heads you can get. Enlarge the ports and match to the manifold. Larger valves would help with a larger carb. Stay in the antique class and work everyone over. Nothing will help if you don't have the right tires. You will need to lighten the rear end in order to pull 6500 and have the ability to weight the front. The front comes up easy on these beasts. Mine takes 140 lbs. as far out as you can get it.
