Can M components (crank, cam, rods)be put directly in a 400-450 block? My M block is cracked and I am looking for a stronger block.
Thanks
CY

The main bearing bore in the block is the same diameter from the M to the 450. The newer engines just used a thinner bearing insert.

Yes indeed. Everything from the M block will work in the 450, except the sleeves and pistons.

I think the Ms from 200,000 serial # range got the bigger journal crank. Red Wheels is correct they used a thinner bearing insert with the bigger crank.
