Does anyone have any opinions on whether or not puting a G flywheel on an A would be beneficial in anyway? Stock, or strokers. Will the crank stand up to the extra weight?

But would you put one on a big stroker? I realize it needs to be re-balanced as splines are slightly off from A crank.

You would have to have it Balanced to the same specs as the "A" flywheel.. The splines are probably not the same size.. I like the idea of a heavier flywheel on higher powered 2- Cylinder engines...it would smooth out the impulses that can break traction... 4, 6 and 8 cylinder engines can use a lot less flywheel weight than a 2-Cylinder...they don't need the mass, to carry engine momentum to the next power impulse.. The extra weight certainly won't hurt, as long as it is safely done... I have often thought of "sweating" a 1/4"thick ring over the outside circumference of mine, to increase the flywheel mass.. It could be secured with rivets, or short bolts threaded into the flywheel..

In our deadweight pulling club, there is G JD's with plate steel flywheels welded together, lots bigger in diameter than stock, lot thicker too. They seem to hold together well. I agree with ya, I think it does smooth em out, never seen em die, or spin out. Just right. on asphalt.. ChadS
