For those of you who have retro fitted 4.25 bore sleeves into the 88 blocks... care to give a few pointers?

What sleeve was used?

Can the blocks still hold water and if so, were the sleeves o-ringed or machined for a press fit?

What was the approx cost for such a project. Just sleeves and machine work please.

Where would I go to get such a job done?

The sleeves all depend on how much stroke you are going to use. If you stay under 4.75 stroke, you can press the sleeve in against the bottom of the block. This will not let the sleeve hang down into the crank case and it is the most effective way to seal the water off. This is the way most automotive engines are sleeved. If you go with a longer stroke, you will need a sleeve that hangs down into the crank case, this style is more prone to leakage. I have had two sleeved 88's that were pressed in and they held water fine with no hard block or leakage. One of them was 4.420 and one was 4.375. Darton makes good sleeves, also Brian Maibach has some sleeves that are made for what you are wanting to do. Good luck.
