Heard the jdchick did a little fancy manuvering last weekend in her daddy's crewcab pickup and trailer. Those long rigs can be a bear to back... Luckily no one was hurt except an innocent tree and the 'chick's feelings of course.

In all fairness 'chick I can't say much in light of my recent driveshaft mishap, and I'm sure your uncle 'hammer will be the first to tell you I have a ways to go before getting my backing "wings" too. Just couldn't resist the opportunity to have a little fun at your expense.

You know Flogger, there are several types of communication. Telephone, television, telegraph...but none of those are as fast as tel-a-relative. It was no time at all after that tree jumped out in front of me that the JDRooster's yard was full of snickering kin. Nothing quite like being beLITTLEd on a Sunday afternoon when you were just trying to be nice. I guess it's true that no good deed goes unpunished.

By the way, that Arbor Day comment just set you back 3 steps in the adoption process.

Sorry to hear you're a little under the weather 'chick. I would imagine these late nights and wild weekends contribute to it. Thought about bringing over some chicken soup but was afraid I might get shot at...

Thanks for the sympathy Flogger. I'm feeling much better today.

Since I had to stay on the couch about all day yesterday, I had plenty of time to think, and I've come up with a good plan. Between your experienced trailer-backing and my newfound respect for the turn radius of a 53' long rig, I think that you and I could be real successful in opening up a driving school for those just getting into pulling. The only materials the students will need are road flares for those tricky universal joint breakdowns, a good strong crowbar for straightening bent metal, and maybe some tree patches.

Sounds like a good plan to me 'chick... As long as it won't require a lot of start up capital. I'm afraid all my spare cash is tied up in the Kerry/Edwards for dogcatcher campaign right now. Care to make a litle contribution?

I would love to contribute to that particular campaign. While we're at it, I have a disillusioned aunt on the non-tractor side of the family that we need to talk some sense into. I think she had a weight or two dropped on her head at some point, because she seems to think that he'd do a good job as the next pres. Fortunately most of the family has a little more sanity than she does.

Maybe we can talk the Rooster into putting up the capital for this start-up venture.

Now don't go blaming your non driving ability on the hen. Anybody should know that a long trailer will not follow in the same tracks as the truck.You just left the farm before we could teach you how to drive a truck and trailer. Ha Ha.

You're right - I let her out from under the wing too soon. And by the way, I did not insist that the Chick move the trailer. She just took a little joking seriously. I believe the Chick will have to stick with driving something shorter -- like a Honda. She wouldn't even drive the Gator after she hit the tree. But no harm done - after all it is just a trailer.
