I have a farmall 350(c-175) engine I am going to put in a H, It needs rebuild this winter. I am thinking of stroking the crank a 1/2 in., dont know how much more power it will give me. I am looking for mostly more torque. I do use this tractor for chores around the house.
I also need a machine shop that can stroke the stoke crank.
the casting numbers are the head 361479-r1
the block 362743-r2
Also will this block have the rods with the smaller wrist pin?
Thanks for your help.

We are running a 350 block in our H and it has a 6"stroke and 4 1/8 bore. Currently has 115HP. Any more and it would have to be dry block. Took alot of block modifications to get it to this.

How thick are the sleeves? Offset bores? 350 blocks do have more potential to go over 4 inch bore over the H block, C-175 blocks the top of the block where the sleeve ring set is in just a shade under 4 inches, few thoudansdths.I have a spare 350 block that has aftermarket sleeves and is at 4 inch. and the sleeves are thick, but would be thin at 4-1/8. Have one now living that large, but should have dry blocked it from the start. Been thinking of the head studs, and if they will hold on the 350 block, did you remove any on yours? sleeves are very very close to the holes. Got some pictures of it, if you wanna see what you think,, ChadS

Good way to go on this one would be a 5 inch stroke. Mostly grinding the rods down, and the sides of the lobes of the cam to clear the rod. Now, on piston selection,, there is a wide variety of bore sizes. anywhere from 3-9/16 bore up to 3-13/16 bore, and the pistons all come from the IH 6 cyl. Setting compression height is simple with these pistons,, using the H rod, and the smaller wrist pin pistons, and making a bushing to set the proper compression height. Good thing about using the IH 6 cyl pistons is, you can still get them, and the firecrater design is not a bad design. you can use the IH 6 cyl piston from 5 inch stroke, up to 5-3/4 stroke in the H-350. As far as torque is concerned,, by using the tractor pistons,, and combining the extra cubes, and compression, you would have plenty of power to do what you need to do. There is a good place in Fort Wayne Indiana that does super work on stroking crankshafts, can pass that along if you need it,, but I have seen the engine that AC is talkin bout,, I would say that is a good one to look into!! He is going bigger,,,, ChadS
