I have a 39 B that I was wanting to set it up for a 3000 lb class. I was wondering if its possible to put late B pistons in it. If the block has enough wall to bore it to 4 11/16 and if the piston pin diameter was the same. If anyone has any feedback, i would love to hear it. Thanks Jake

Jake..the block will work unless it is severely pitted on the water side..39 b wrist pin size is 1.250 and i think the later b is 1.417 or somewhere around there..one thing you can do is to take a later rod and weld it to the 39 rod and lengthen it some..even with the later piston you will not get much more than 5.5:1 compression if i remember right..early in the last decade of the last century since i have done one..lynn
