What do you use on your Olivers that are running over 1300 HP as a cupler? I have heard that the chain will not take high HP or tourqe. Would like to make sure that the 310 diesel in my 1800C never breaks again.

Thanks Paul in WI

I am not sure about 1300 but I know we had one on a 2-70 with a 310 and 2 chargers that never was a problem.

I washed my hands and couldn't do a thing with them!! It should have said 130 HP
I know that the chain has a upper HP limit and am looking at a way to keep from breaking another one

What brakes on your chain coupler?

If you bronze weld the connector link on opposite corners, and cotter key the other two it will not come off.

Dodge makes a paracoupler(?) We use them to drive high horsepower hydraulic pumps in cotton gins. These things use what can be best described as a rubber tire instead of chain. We don't have much trouble them and they come in various sizes. You can also get a gear shaft coupler that also allows for some misalignment. These work realy great, but are quite expensive.
