Ok, following the conclusion of most outdoor pulls for the season, does anyone have some cool new puller projects lined up? It would be nice to hear what folks are turning wrenches on this fall and winter to bring out in the spring.

70 Deere LP for the 6500lb but likely the 8000 lb class. Stock antique or what ever they call division I. The two 840 Deere two cylinders for the 10,000 & 12,000 classes are going to be a while. Would like to continue the projects but vehicle repairs and home repairs keeps draining the budget. Now the wife says she want's to take a vacation in Jamacia this winter.

I'm building an 870 Case, but my wallet is getting thin with this diesel stuff. I hope to have her smokin by spring. I also purchased a MM 5-star but am undecided on what to do with it.

plan to poke and stroke it a little bit,i was thinking around that 570 area.
bigger charger, and find about 400 lbs of excess weight to lose.
that is the plan, but the plan does not normally work out like it does on paper!
i wonder if anyone else has that problem.

How hard is it to bolt up a 504 to a 930 Case? I'd like to do that if it's not a huge project.

Thanks,

Sorry the big nut carb won't get enough airflow/pressure drop across the verturi to control fuel flow. The stock "A" carbs are way plenty for the wildest bored and stroked high rpm B. Go with a cam, compression and some port/valve work instead of the big nut.

I will probly do what I did last wiinter. Walk out to the shop and tell myself If it was just a little warmer I would start rebuildiing one of my tractors. Go back ina house and watch Fox News or C Span. then in a coupla days repete the same process. Three days before the first pull ina spring I will start a three week project and not get it done in time for the pull in the three days even though I miss goin to work and work half the nights. Won"t be able to go cause the tractor is still all over the floor.
Just seems what old is startin to do.

Going to see how much aluminum I can cobble up to fit on one farmall H. Maybe build a Moline R for 3500 farm and field, or see if a 445 motor fits in it. BTW, Mopower, where are you located? I am east of Benton Harbor....AC

I'm about 30 mi SW of Lansing in a town called vermontville. It's near Charlotte and Hastings. My little sis lives in St. Joseph. A good fried of mine builds M-M motors in Kalamazoo. I get back and forth with him for parts. E-mail or call anytime. I have an R pullere in my garage that is almost ready to make its debut and it should be strong.

Yeah, I used to run chemicals up there when I worked for Helena. My best friends family lived in Hastings, so I am somewhat familiar with the area.

Not trying to be presonal here, but about 4 months ago, I met a girl who said her brother or dad, (I don't remember) pulled tractors. (I had mine on the trailer), pulling into the restaurant/bar. I wonder if it was her...?? Ironic,if it was...I think she was about my age, or 23 or so...huh....wierd...I live right by St Joe, in Coloma. I'll have to take a ride up and see that R..... AC

If it was a nice looking dark haired girl, it could have been. She is 22. She works for an advertising place that does work for Whirlpool. Dad and I both pull together. Come on up sometime. My friend Cheryl Bates grew up in Coloma.

I really didn't think she had dark hair, but I do remember that she was sharp! haha, not trying to talk about your sister, if it was, but you know... ANYWAY, Bates...that name sounds familiar. What year did she graduate, and is she about 26?

I quit running around with most people from Coloma when I was about 19, so, I have forgotten ALOT of names, but I remember some faces.

I think my neighbor works for the same company. Ask your sis if she knows Kathy Brutchee (sp?)She works/worked for an advertising company that did stuff for whirlpool but I never knew the name.

Where are you going to debut this R? and, who do you pull with? later, AC

Cheryl Bates must be about 30 but she has a younger sis that is my age I think. Redhead named Melanie. I'll mention it to my sis. I pull with Clintonia Pullers around Lansing. Fowler is our home track. A lot of tough competition in that club. Not sure when it will debut. Needs a hitch and sharp tires as well as a tuning, break-in, and wiring. Need more room for weights behind the tractor and was wanting a stronger set of bars with brackets on them also. The ones I currently have were a quick fix in a hurry and you can tell it by looking at it too.So far I haven't gotten on them but one day I might get hooked to one of those sleds that just drop all the sudden and wham up she comes QUICK!That happened to me once at Missouri(on the G)and when it did it hit so hard it unloaded the tires and there it was.

Mostly finishing projects on the backburner. My 1939 M-M RT puller need wiring, starting, and break-in, not to mention some good details. My UTU needs a motor swap to get running again and I have a Twin City JTU that I may bolt together without modification just to be able to run it around. But then there is a GBD, 335, and 5-Star coming for who knows what. Dad has a UTU and UBU to tweak and two KTA Twin-Citys coming for who knows what. Busy busy. Just hope to run my RT and UTU.

You need to lay off that stuff if its got you believing that , I myself plan to build a w-40 some day but it will not hang with a 6cyl MM in heavy classes like 8,000 up, if you think it can bring it on down, you'll probably have a good chance at second place.
