Rearend cover for John Deere G

I am looking for a rearend cover for a styled 1948 John Deere G. I would like either a aluminum (if it's under a $150 and you don't have to drill holes in it) or a fiberglass one if the price is right. Thanks

A,G styled aluminum cover - $210.00 G (pan seat) aluminum cover - $110.00

I have the pan seat cover on my 1950 G.. and built brackets to hold the seat... They do not come drilled.. but the holes are the same on both sides.. To drill the holes take off your stock cover.. remove the PTO stub shaft.. and just clamp the two covers together.. and drill.. They will be a little off of the cast AL cover because the cover shrinks a little as it cools from the casting.. It does have a chunk of Al sticking out where the PTO shaft was.. I cut mine down in the band saw.. It is very easy to install, and you should not have any problems.. Good luck

The casting has a little stub on it, because it was casted from the original flatback w/PTO.. but the PTO area is casted over.. With some good machine work you could probably make it work.. JDGnut

Do you have the specs on where the pto shaft hole should be? or would i have to figure that out.

Sorry.. I don't have any specs.. It will take some good machine work... And might not be worth your time.. You might be better off finding an orginal flat back, as it will have the PTO in it.. but they are getting pricey.. I have a spare housing that has the PowerTrol removed.. with the PTO in, that I use when I need to dyno... Good Luck
