Hi need help need to know what the best stroke and bore size for a unstyled A. I was going to sleeve the block big but now I was thinking of stroking it I would like to know what a fair price would be to do this. I would like to go big but not cut the tractor up to bad. I pull against some very hot tractors and would like to be competitive. Thanks

BIG (9.250"+) cranks range anywhere from $950ish to $1350 or so, depending on where you get them. The $1350 one has the mains welded up and ground back to std. so that everything is straight whereas some of the cheaper ones are pressed back straight and called good. In my opinion, if you are going to the expense of getting a crank and rods made, you might as well go all the way, because it doesnt cost that much more to go big than small, and small wont get you that much. Without cutting the back of the crankcase out, I dont think you will be able to squeeze more than a 7.250-7.500 crank in there. 9.250" will require the cam be notched and the back wall of the crankcase to have slots cut in it, but will not be visible from the outside whereas anything over that will come thru the top and be noticeable.
How big is big when you say you were going to get a block sleeved? 6.250" will fit in an early styled w/o cutting out the front of the crankcase and I assume an unstyled is simular.
