been to a few pulls, have a lot to learn, but how fair can it be when nobody checks hitch height, length, or h.p.? have a diesel and when i blow smoke i'm right away over horse and cheating. went around at the last pull the height was supposed to be 21 mine was 20 everybody else was 4 to 6 inches higher than us, after the first 140 foot run spinning our wheels we went back and raised the hitch as high as we could with what we had, got down there with everybody else, this is supposed to be fun? What a CROCK!!!

i know what u r talking about last year in our club i have a 43 jdb with cast frame steel wheels at that time i didnt have weights on tractor completely stock i had to pull in the 4000 clas another guy had a cyclone b with cast wheels and weights electric start the whole nine yards you could tell by looking at it weighed more but he pulled in the 3000 class i wasnt the only one that got screwed that day so we went to the club president and the rules were changed and someone else was put in charge of the pulls someone that doesnt pull and has no reason to play favorites the other guys left the club and started ther own pulling club told there members that if any of them was caght at our show they would be thrown out of there club sounds childish to me they said we are nothing but a bunch of outlaws lol

sounds like a pull like that, you have to be on the board so you can get away with it, like your name is BILL, with the NATPA

That sounds like it is some dumb pulling to me. In our club we get checked before each class, and the top pullers in the classes also get checked after the class. We check weight, horse, and drawbar height, not much room for cheating there.

How do you check "horse", do you have a dino at the pull? How would you determine illegal? Over Nebraska tests?

Yes we have a dyno at the pulls, and our club rules allow use to be 10% over factory horsepower and rpm.

Not griping or trying to start anything here as I think the checking HP is kinda neat. Question I have is I know of a man who has a Oliver Super 88 that came right off of a farm in Wisconsin that is pulling 65 hp on regular gas and 10% rpm. Since the rating is like 53-55 he would be illegal HP wise but legal RPM wise. how does your club handle that situation?

He would be DQ'ed, but only the top tractors in each class get checked.
