What RPM Can I Run A G262 ??

I am taking a G262(gas) out of a Gleaner combine and installing it into a Cockshutt 50.The engine is stock.Can any of you guys running this setup tell me what RPM I can safely run it . While I have everything apart is there any other thing I can do to gain some HP.(Without costing huge $$$$) Thanks for your time.

If you're going back together with a fresh motor, it'll turn 3000 without any problem and reliably. Maybe more. If you get everything balanced well it'll turn as many as you want it to. If you can find a set of propane pistons it will bump your horsepower by about 15-20 depending mostly on your carb and electrical setup. Headwork isn't really necessary unless you really want to turn some RPMs. The LP pistons are identical to the gas pistons except the wrist pin is lower on the piston so it pushes it higher in the cylinder. That was the only difference between the LP and gas engines. Gas compression is 170psi and propane is 210psi.
