I dont know a lot about tractor pulling but was reading some of the rules at a website and came across the term " spacer plates and girdles". Requirement is not to exceed 1" above or below center of crank shaft. What are they talking about?

Thanks,

spacer plate is used to get a longer rod in the same spot,a girdle plate is used to hold the bottom of the block from spreading open and spilling the crank out on the ground.

this is where guys are putting spacers on top and bottom of the block because they have put 10 gals in a 5 gal bucket. its to hold those fast tractors together so they can pull with 2 or 3 tractors in that class. i like the old little stroke and pulling skill instead of just road gear and let it go. my 2 cents worth for the pulling world!!

Glad to hear your sad story; maybe someday you can get a tractor that can pull something other than low gear!

I think the biggest laugh is on the guys who spend big bucks on their tractor just for an $8 trophy. The speed limit classes are important for those who want to drive thier tractors to victory, not buy it.
