I have a cockshutt 50 with a crank that is done.I have located a combine with a 262 engine.I have heard that you can swap cranks as long as you do the cam as well.Is this correct?Is there any other modifications that have to be made or just cam and crank?How about pistons will mine be to long now with the longer stroke? Also does someone know where I can get a 30 over ZOLLNER piston? This is what is in mine and one is broken.Its is a 625c piston. Thanks for your time.

Use the head and intake to. You will have to machine the pistons but just off of one side, leave the side in the combustion chamber. This will bump up your compression abit.

I guess I was thinking on the diesels... not sure how the gas piston is going to fit as far as the top... the diesel pistons on the 230's and 262 are fulsh or sticking out of the block just a hair.. and the head is flat except where the intake valve is inset into the head for the injector.. and power cell... I am guessing you are using the 274?? block... it has the bigger bore... but the same stroke as the 230 engine.. the 262 has the longer stroke... there is a .250 difference in the stroke.. I do not know about the pistons... the 230 and 262's use the same rods.. but the 262 has a shorter pistons... you may have to use the bigger pistons and machine the tops of the pistons....
