Yep, spark plugs, are you running 6 or 12 volts? resistor coil, or a full 12 volt coil? Usually, you need to open the plug gap up, when feeding more fuel, if you have a good igntion system,, points,, try not to go over .032 on plug gap, but stock gaps dont work too well in this case, it is like blowing out a birthday candle, it blows out the spark. open the gap up, or start from scratch with a fresh set of plugs, it does take a bit of testing, and tuning to find the place where it runs the best, when adjusting the idle screw,, make sure it is completely idled down, low as it will go so it activates the idle circuit. amd for main jet adjustments, wide open, (be careful!!) and after adjustment made, ride the brakes while driving,, see if it misses, or sputters. Antoher way to tune the igntion and the carb is to change the igntion timing, to where it sounds like it is lugging, for a short period of time, this is just like a dyno pull when you do this,, it labors the engine, and if it has a miss, (plug, points, carb,) you can find it, in cases where it runs good while putting around, but lug it and it sputters. Sounds like the ol H needs a good tune up,, Chad
